Thursday, January 30, 2003 ( 2:00 PM ) Dear World, Wow, we're closing tomorrow! I can't believe it. He really did it, Dad came out here and bought a house. It's pretty small and it's in the Hood, but it's a house that we can both live in! So now can get out of my piece of crap apartment and I can see Dad without having to fly to Ohio. I'll have my own room of course. And I feel like a teenager because there's even a basement/garage room sort of thing that he said we can soundproof so I can have band practice there. That is if I ever get the band started again. More on that later, I don't have time to give an update on that now. The very short version is that Amy is OK and I had no idea that she had BiPolar Disorder. Doesn't that sound like a disease from Antarctica? So I'm reading a book about it, it's called An Unquiet Mind. It's pretty good, but it makes me look all around me and see that disorder in all sorts of people. Anyway, back to the house thing. It took a while because Dad had to sell his house in Ohio which it turns out was actually on the market for a long time because he was going to move into a smaller place but he took the sign down when I was there for some reason, and anyway all in all it worked out OK because it was a pretty nice house so he got enough money that there's not much mortgage on this one, so I can keep freeloading off of him for the forseeable future. I flew back out there to help him get the house all cleaned out, and we packed up all his stuff and got it into a big moving truck with the movers who are going to drive it out and meet us here with all the stuff next week! So in the meantime I had time to give notice at my apartment which I was lucky with because I was month to month. And now my stuff is all packed up too, and we'll start moving it on Saturday. WOW. I can't believe it, it is very sudden. My only fear is I hope it doesn't interfere with my social life and my spontanaeity. More later.
